The Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (ASIDC) was set up by the Govt. of Assam on March 27 1962 with a view to promote and develop small scale industries in the state. The corporation assists small scale units in a number of different ways, some of the activities of the corporation are highlighted below:

• Supply of raw materials
• Marketing assistance to the SSI and tiny sector units
• Industrial Infrastructure Development
• Supply of Machinery on Hire purchase
• Financial assistance under various schemes
• Training programmes for entrepreneurs and workers
• Technical consultancy and Entrepreneurial Guidance
• Industrial survey and Preparation of Project Reports
